The Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) promoted by the United Nations are an initiative consisting of a network of investors who work together to implement the Principles for Responsible Investment established by the group. The aim is to raise awareness of the benefits of sustainability for investors and provide support for the signatories to make these considerations part of their decision-making processes when it comes to investment and shareholding practices.

CaixaBank Asset Management SGIIC, S.A.U. (CABK AM) signed the Principles for Responsible Investment in 2016, demonstrating that respect for good practice is more than an obligation. It is part of our DNA. In applying these principles, the signatories are helping to create a more sustainable global financial system. The signatories have a duty to act in accordance with the long-term interests of their beneficiaries. By honouring this obligation, they have shown their conviction that environmental, social and corporate governance issues can affect the profitability of investment portfolios.

These values define the CaixaBank group and we respect them in every decision we make. As a show of this commitment, in 2011 we joined the United Nations Global Compact, which was launched in 1999 and is the world's greatest initiative of corporate citizenship. It has pledged to uphold principles based on human rights, labour standards, the environment and the fight against corruption.

In accordance with Principle 6, signatories of the PRI must “report on their activities and progress towards implementing the Principles.” This information should be broken down by asset category. Each signatory is scored for each UN PRI principle, and their result is compared with the other signatories. (Access to the UN PRI summary report and SRI policy of CABKAM)

The PRI initiative, promoted by the United Nations, is an international network of investors who work together to practice the six Principles for Responsible Investment. The aim is to raise awareness of the benefits of sustainability for investors and provide support for the signatories to make these considerations part of their decision-making processes when it comes to investment and shareholding practices.
